Josh Sklair won his first Grammy Award as Producer on the Etta James’ album Let’s Roll  for Best Contemporary Blues Album 2003. The following year when Etta’s  Blues to the Bone won Best Traditional Blues Album, he received a second Producer’s Grammy, celebrating over 2 decades as Musical Director, Guitar Player, Co-writer and Arranger for American Icon Etta James.

Between touring and recording over a dozen albums with Etta,  Josh has maintained a career in Los Angeles recording and/or performing with Jeffrey Osborne, Jim Belushi/the Blues Brothers, Sophie B.Hawkins, Jon Lucien, the H.B. Barnum Orchestra, Side Effect and b. Currently touring with Paul Anka. Studio clients have included Diana Ross, Roy Orbison, Diane Warren, Lamont Dozier, Albert Hammond, Willie De Ville, Desmond Child, Cher, Celine Dion, Natalie Cole, Carnie and Wendy Wilson, Atlantic Star and Shanice. Josh’s guitar tracks, production and/or compositions can also be heard on numerous commercials, Movie Soundtracks and Television Shows.

After studying at Berklee College of Music, Boston MA, and graduating from the Guitar Institute of Technology (Musician’s Institute), Los Angeles CA., Josh worked as guitar player in the house band for the Dick Clark Good Old Rock ‘n’ Roll Shows – the Brother John Band – backing legends Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Del Shannon, Darlene Love,  Little Anthony, Mary Wells, Martha Reeves, the Shirelles, the Coasters, the Platters, the Rivingtons, Bobby Vee, Bobby Rydell, The Drifters and Freddy Cannon provided a solid foundation in the roots of Rock, Soul and Rhythm and Blues that has served him well.
